Some stories do not arrive quietly in our lives.
They cross oceans and transform our hearts forever.
The arrival of my first grandson, Benjamin, was exactly like that.
A beautiful mixture of love, longing, anticipation, emotion, and faith.
My eldest son, Jonathan, left Brazil to pursue an exchange program in Australia. Like every mother, my heart already felt the pain of missing him long before we said goodbye at the airport.
I remember exactly the day I drove to the airport with him.
I cried almost the entire journey, trying my best to hide it so no one would notice.
It was the first time I would truly be far away from my firstborn son.
A mother's heart feels things that words cannot always explain.
At that moment, I believed that goodbye was simply another phase of life.
But God was already writing a much bigger story.
What I did not know at the time was that it would also be the last time my mother, Jonathan's grandmother and Benjamin's great-grandmother, would see him in person.
Earlier this year, our family faced a painful goodbye when she passed away.
Perhaps that is one of the reasons Benjamin's arrival carries such a deep meaning for all of us.
Because life somehow continues to bloom through love, through generations, and through the memories that remain alive in our hearts.
But God had even greater plans for our family.
It was in Australia that Jonathan met the love of his life, a wonderful Australian woman who brought even more light into our lives.
Not long afterward came the news that changed everything:
I was going to become a grandmother.
Even from the other side of the world, Benjamin was already deeply loved here in Brazil.
Toward the end of the pregnancy, they moved to Tasmania, where her mother lives.
And it was there, far away from our hugs and embraces, that little Benjamin was born.
That was when I truly began to understand that real love knows no distance.
A Pregnancy Experienced Through a Phone Screen
Every ultrasound photo they sent filled my heart with emotion.
Every video call eased the longing just a little.
Every message saying,
"Mom, look at Benjamin moving..."
made my heart overflow with joy, even from thousands of miles away.
Technology allowed us to share smiles and moments.
But it could never completely replace the desire to hold him close.
I confess that there were days when I wondered why God's plans placed my first grandchild so far away.
Perhaps because some stories must cross oceans to teach us that a grandmother's love needs no borders.
When Longing Became Art
As the distance weighed heavily on my heart, something beautiful began to grow inside my studio.
Benjamin's keepsakes.
His maternity collection.
His nursery frame.
Every detail of the collection.
Every piece I created with my own hands carried a little piece of the longing I felt.
That was when I realized something very special:
God was allowing me to participate in my grandson's arrival through the work I love most.
Every ribbon.
Every detail.
Every carefully chosen color.
Everything was prepared with genuine love.
Not as a product.
But as a treasured memory.
The Fear That Lives Inside Me
Many people do not know this, but I suffer from claustrophobia.
I cannot ride elevators alone.
So imagine crossing the world on a plane all the way to Australia.
It was difficult to accept that I would not be present for the birth of my first grandchild.
I would not hear his first cry in person.
I would not smell that magical newborn scent.
I would not be able to hold him in my arms.
And that hurt.
But even from far away, I lived every emotion intensely.
Because a grandmother's love does not require physical presence to exist.
Waiting for the First Hug
Today, Benjamin continues to grow on the other side of the world.
And I remain here, counting the days until one of the most anticipated moments of our lives:
The day he comes to Brazil
A little older.
Running through the house.
Finally discovering the loving arms of Grandma and Grandpa.
Perhaps that is exactly why the Benjamin Collection is so special.
It was not created merely as a premium maternity collection.
It was born from a real story.
A story lived between:
Brazil and Australia.
Longing and love.
Distance and connection.
Tears and hope.
Every maternity frame, every keepsake, and every detail of this collection carries genuine emotion.
Because when something is created with love, it becomes more than decoration.
It becomes an everlasting memory.
The Benjamin Collection
The Benjamin Collection was created for mothers who wish to preserve the most important moment of their lives with beauty, emotion, and meaning.
More than maternity keepsakes and nursery frames, this collection represents:
• Family love
• Cherished memories
• Real motherhood
• Emotional connection
• Moments that cross generations
And perhaps that is exactly what I hope to offer every mother:
The opportunity to transform feelings into lasting memories.
With love,
